Last Night’s Cabinet Meeting

Needless to say cabinet voted for the recommendations ie to invite HTC to make The Green available and subject to that agreement to prepare a planning application for The Green. Also to ask KCC for a decision re the school. And taking account of that to prepare a planning application for Princes Parade. Councillor Collier asked how this fitted in with the Local Plan but they ignored his question! Lots of issues not covered including the risks of developing Princes Parade. They reckon there are ways of overcoming the covenant on The Green.

Today’s Express

Good to be on the front page again but it’s not true that we claim” the only consultation residents answered was over the location of the proposed development on Princes Parade held by SDC in June 2014.”  This consultation was carried out by Shepway’s PR consultants and the only choice offered was whether the new Leisure Centre should be on the east or west end of Princes Parade. Shepway have carried out various “public consultations” but the only one we recognise as having been properly carried out was the Issues & Options consultation carried out as part of the Local Plan process early in 2015.

More council Meetings/Local Plan Update

At the recent cabinet meeting it was confirmed that the next stage of the Local Plan has been postponed until March 2016. However, Andy Jarrett will be presenting his Princes Parade report to cabinet on Nov 4th 5pm. Please put the date in your diary and try to join us in the public gallery. The Princes Parade project will also be discussed by the Resources Scrutiny Committee on 28th Oct at 7pm. Again your support would be much appreciated.
