The Real Reason Shepway Wants to Develop Prince’s Parade
Confirmation that Shepway wants to develop Prince’s Parade to “Increase useable capital receipts” :
Footage of a New School being Flooded
This gives you a idea what it’s like when a new school floods – 8.23 mins into the programme although it’s all rather alarming if you’ve got time to watch the whole programme.

Seabrook School
According to today’s Hythe Herald, Liz Carter head of Seabrook School said the school needs a new building but Prince’s Parade was not necessarily the right place.
In its recent newsletter sent to some local residents, Shepway quoted from a letter from the school and this quote seemed to support a school on Prince’s Parade but the head says this has been taken out of context.
Hythe Neighbourhood Plan
If you live or work in Hythe you will shortly be receiving a Neighbourhood Plan leaflet which is your chance to have your say in the future of the whole of Hythe. Make sure you fill it in and return it to yhe council by 28 February.

Motion re the swimming pool:
That Shepway DC be requested to factor into the preparation of stages 2 & 3 of the Prince’s Parade brief the Neighbourhood Plan process and acknowledges the role which the Neighbourhood Plan should play in the future development of Prince’s Parade, to include the consideration of the option of the siting and locating of the new Hythe swimming pool.
Motion re Prince’s Parade:
1 That the baseline analysis on Prince’s Parade be noted.
2 That Shepway DC be requested to factor into the preparation of stages 2 & 3 of the Prince’s Parade brief the Neighbourhood Plan process and acknowledges the role which the Hythe Neighbourhood Plan should play in scoping the future development of Prince’s Parade.
3 That KCC be advised that the motion passed at the Forum meeting held on 20th August as submitted to Hythe Town Council is noted but that it is regarded to be premature pending the outcomes and proposals emanating from the Hythe Neighbourhood Plan.

Hythe Town Council Meeting 1 November
Hythe Town Council Meeting
Hythe Town Council were supposed to be discussing Prince’s Parade on 1 November but it is not now on the agenda. We think it will now been on the agenda for 20 December. Here is the explanation from the Town Clerk:
No – it is not on the Agenda; there is no report as yet from SDC which is due for publication on 31st October which can then be debated but not in time for dissemination for 1st November.
The “conflict of interest issue”, as you refer to it, has not been resolved as regards separate legal views obtained from NALC (legal advisers to the National Association of Local Councils) and the Monitoring Officer at SDC and the Minutes of the Standing Orders Committee will be placed on the website tomorrow afternoon when those Minutes are circulated to Councillors.
